Intervivos Asset Management

Anthony B. Sandoe, Esq

Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts

Early in the course ofAlzheimer's Disease (AD}, patients begin to experience a gradually diminishing capacity to manage their personal and business affairs. It becomes increasingly apparent that assistance in these matters will be required. Accordingly, the patient's family must identify those assets and sources of income that will require management. Thereafter, they should consider the objectives of the asset and income management, the legal forms of management that may eventually be employed, and the identity of the manager-Who will have the authority to make such decisions when the patient is no longer capable?
